Registration and First Payment DUE WEDNESDAY!  Wahoo - we're headed back to Camp Shenandoah!  The camp is located in the Shenandoah Mountains near Swoope, VA (west of Staunton). Sign up and pay first 1/2 payment by clicking at right on Payment #1 (due Feb 22).  Payment #2 is due March 22. Or bring a check for the full amount to a troop meeting...

Dues are $85 per Scout ($158 per family with two Scouts). This amount covers fees (paid to National BSA in December) for rechartering each Scout in the troop, troop insurance, and Boys' Life magazine, plus additional troop operating budget fees to help cover the costs associated with training, rank advancement and merit badges and other ongoing budget items. [Active, participating adult leaders are exempt from paying dues - your contribution to the viability of the troop more than covers your fees for re-chartering.] Dues are due March 1. If you cannot pay all at once, please coordinate payments with Mrs. Brand.  Scouts who sold more than $300 of popcorn in the fall are exempt from paying troop dues (congratulations to Brandon, Christopher, Gabe, and Robbie.)  Everyone else - please pay by check at a meeting (made out to Troop 800) OR by PayPal online (go to March 1 on the calendar). If you use PayPal, you must send a copy of your emailed receipt to treasurer@troop800.org. This is important so that our new treasurer Dihann Geier, can record the payments on the website (it does not get checked off automatically.)

Opportunity to Earn Merit Badges over Spring Break! Spring Break Camp! (FYI-this is not a troop event, but you can still go)

Posted on Jan 10 2017 - 10:34am

Want to get a jump on some Eagle-required merit badges or just have some fun over Spring Break? Camp T. Brady Saunders located west of Richmond offers Spring Break Camp, April 10-14. The cost is $180 and Scouts may go as "provisional" campers - on their own or with a buddy - and will be assigned to another troop for the week. (Note that being a provisional camper means a Scout has the maturity to act appropriately and Scouty during camp - it requires parental and Scoutmaster approval.)  More info can be found here:  http://bradysaunders.net/camp/springbreak.html
